Company Profile

Our founders, Henry Holmes and Frank Schneider were instrumental in bringing the drywall industry to Kansas City in the 1950’s. Henry and Frank managed successful contracting careers for over 20 years. Sensing a need in the area, they shifted their focus to the sales and distribution side of the drywall business. In 1967, the supply business was founded; the Holmes name has become synonymous with service ever since.

The Holmes family business incorporates many people into its fold. Customer and employee alike have long standing roots with the company. Henry’s philosophy “treat others as you want to be treated” still rings true today.

Henry’s daughter, Jeanne, is President of the corporation, and his son Joe, manages the Lee’s Summit facility. Frank’s daughter, Barbara Hughes, oversees inventory and purchasing.

A third generation is active in the business as well. Vanessa Morrison, is credit and office manager. She is Henry’s granddaughter. There are many other employees that contribute greatly to our success, though they are not related, they are still considered family.
