PURCHASING MANAGER - KANSAS CITY, MO

Holmes Drywall Supply, Inc is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for buying the inventory of our largest product lines for multiple branches. Create solid relationships with our supporting vendor partners while molding with the culture of our company, which has 50 years of respect and history in this business. Working with the CFO and President, the Purchasing Manager will be a vital role to the company to help ensure our inventory costs are at a level that cultivates the opportunity for profit, while keeping the customer at the best price we can.

Qualifications/ Skills:

•           Enter purchase orders and follow then through receipt while focusing on precision, accuracy and cost
•          Work with sales team and customers to order stock inventory and special order items
•          Coordinate the timely receipt and logistics of the order
•          Negotiate price on non-stock items
•          Stay well informed with sales team on job material needs of specific upcoming projects
•          Assist customers with best options available to meet their needs
•          Track and report specified product purchases to CFO/ President
•          Stay attentive to current market conditions for our products and the factors that will affect those prices
•          Must balance and meet purchasing goals set by the President
•          Provides guidance to retail purchasers at each branch

  Qualifications/ Skills:

•            Purchasing experience required
•          5+ years’ experience in the building material industry preferred
•          Positive Attitude with customers, vendors, and fellow employees to foster long lasting relationships
•          Strong professional written and oral communication skills
•          Time Management to know when attention is required and how to prioritize your tasks at any given moment
•          Good judgement and decision making
